Everyone round here calls me Bugsy, and I still answer my own phone, day or night. I got into this trade because I could not stand hearing how people were treated at the worst moment, locked out, broken into, or a door that failed when they needed it most, and then charged the earth for it. So I do it the other way. I tell you straight what a job needs and what it does not, I fix rather than replace where I can, and I never add a call-out fee or VAT. In 2024 the Hampshire Police and Crime Commissioner named me Community Volunteer of the Year, and that one meant the most, because it came from the community I work in. No call centre, no script, just me and the van.
