A real local, not a call centre
When you ring Keywise, you get Bugsy. Not a switchboard in another city that farms the job out to whoever’s nearest, but the same local locksmith who’ll be standing on your doorstep. He’s built the business across the Waterside the slow, honest way, one happy neighbour at a time, and the 5.0 rating across 317+ Google reviews is the proof of it.
Locks have fascinated Bugsy since he was a lad, not the selling of them, the workings of them, what makes a cylinder turn and why a cheap one gives way. He spent years on the tools across the locksmith, security and building trades before going out on his own, and he has run Keywise as an independent locksmith since the first of August 2013, well over a decade with his own name on the van. That is why he can look at a door and know the fault before he is through the gate.
He’s genuinely 24 hours. His emergency line rings loud through the night, so a 2am lock-out reaches Bugsy himself rather than an answerphone, and most call-outs across SO45 and Southampton are reached within half an hour. He’s trained in non-destructive entry, so the vast majority of lock-outs are opened with no damage at all, saving you the cost of a new door or cylinder.
Bugsy is DBS checked and £2m public liability insured, takes card or cash, and guarantees every part he fits for 12 months. He gives free home security checks to anyone who wants one. In 2024 the Hampshire Police & Crime Commissioner recognised him for his community work, you can read the award here.
