How do you secure an up-and-over garage door?

Enfield-type bolts are the proven, insurance-recognised pattern people ask for by name, and I fit them properly, through-bolted, not just screwed into thin skin.
What about roller and side doors?
Roller doors want a decent floor-mounted or barrel lock rather than relying on the motor alone. A timber or uPVC side door into the garage should be locked to the same standard as any external door on the house; a cheap rim latch on a side door is an invitation.
Is the garage-to-house door a real risk?
Yes, and it is the one people forget. If someone gets into the garage quietly, that internal door lets them work on the house out of sight. It should carry a proper insurance-rated lock, and I will tell you honestly whether the one you have is up to it.
