Made for Southampton students
Southampton is a student city, more than 23,000 of you across the University of Southampton (Highfield and Avenue campuses) and Solent University in the city centre. You are spread across Portswood, Highfield, Swaythling, the Polygon, Bevois Valley and the city centre, in halls, HMOs and shared houses right through SO14, SO15 and SO17. That is my patch, and student call-outs are some of the most common jobs I do.

The student jobs I get called out for
- Locked out of halls or a shared house. A 24/7 emergency lock-out, non-destructive where possible so nothing gets damaged, and reached fast across the city.
- Lost or stolen keys. One key for a whole shared house that has gone missing is a security risk, I change or re-key the lock so old keys are useless.
- Moving-in lock change. New house share? You never know who still has a key. I change the locks and key them alike so one key fits.
- Snapped keys and stiff doors. Broken key removed, sticking uPVC doors sorted before they strand you.
- End of tenancy. Landlord or agent needs the locks changed between tenancies, done properly with one clear invoice.
How the student discount works
No forms, no fuss. When I arrive, show me a valid student ID, your university or college photo card, UNiDAYS, or a TOTUM (NUS) card. I take 10% off the complete invoice total, agreed with you before any work begins. It stacks with the fact that I never charge a call-out fee, so you are getting a genuinely fair price, not a cheap-headline trick that balloons at the door.
One discount per invoice (it is not combined with our other set discounts), and it is for the student named on the ID. That is the same simple, honest policy behind every discount I give.
