Who I am
I am Donald Edwards. Everyone round here calls me Bugsy. I have run Keywise 24hr Locksmiths as a family business on the SO45 Waterside since 2013, and I still answer my own phone, day or night. Not a call centre. Not a script. Me, and the van.
Why I do it the honest way
I got into this trade because I could not stand hearing how people were treated at the worst moment and then charged the earth for it. An emergency locksmith should be the person who makes a bad day better, not worse. So I do it straight. I tell you what a job needs and what it does not. I try non-destructive entry first, picking the lock open so your door and your existing lock survive. And I never add a call-out fee or VAT. What I actually do
Locked out of your home or business? I am usually with you inside 30 minutes. Lost or broken keys, a lock change between tenancies, a uPVC or multipoint door that will not lock, an anti-snap cylinder upgrade for your insurance, a police-approved key safe, or securing a property after a break-in, that is my day. That one was a front door over in Sholing where the locking mechanism was on its way out. I stripped it down, cleaned and reset it, and told her straight that the gearbox is an obsolete type running rough, so if it finally goes, ring me and a new system goes in. No upsell, no scare story.
